We use the Teamcenter only for flash control of our engines before we assemble the engines to find collision controls virtually before it's real to save money and the future. We hope Siemens will develop an artificial intelligence system to get more feedback so that we do not have to control each collision by ourselves. So it would be nice.
  • It's a lovely UI and the JT format is very small and very quick
  • I don't like because the updates are very heavy and very expensive. This is the main issue we have.
The integrity of other products. So software is not so good because we have a huge history and a lot of tools, but if you are only in this tool and do everything then it's fine.

Well, I try to use it to define my processes. I'm not the end user of it, I enable end users to use it in an effective way. I try to define the algorithm, or let's say, flow what should be happening. Then some of our developers help us to configure workloads or other activities to reach a better way of working.
  • I'm specifically coming from the BOP area and I feel that the M V P is really good in structurized the data, like process resources and materials. It helps to connect all of them together and natural a better result of the connections and integrations.
  • I'm going to be a little blunt here. So the way how MPP and bombs are getting separated out, that is creating some issues when we want to implement end-to-end processes. The bomb team, the manufacturing or the sector manager kind of team, tries to give various features for the materials and bombs related to them, but all of those features are not available for BOP. For example, solution variant creation. When we have a variant based structure, I can create a solution variant for bombs, but I cannot create a solution variant for BOPs and this is, I would say something of a gap that Siemens should address and get it fixed. We have to do customization, but if the product is itself giving us then this is an elegant way to push it further. This is what I would say is the issue.
Teamcenter is growing very well in active workspace as a web-based client, but again, when I'm coming from the manufacturing point of view or a Build of Processes point of view, the software easy plan still needs to improve in a way. Of course, I think they're improving it also in a good way, but it's still not yet matured so from today onwards I can simply ask my users from product resistant to using the plan and push it further. I think there we have to improve more.

The primary business problem that Teamcenter addresses is the complexity of managing product-related information and processes. Throughout the lifecycle of a product, from concept development to retirement, there is a vast amount of data generated and multiple stakeholders involved. Teamcenter helps us to streamline and centralize this information, providing a single source of truth for product-related data. Our main scope is collaboration and Workflow Management where Teamcenter enables effective collaboration among cross-functional teams, including design engineers, manufacturing teams and even suppliers. We are using the given tools for managing and automating workflows, facilitating information sharing, and ensuring everyone is working with the latest information.

I am responsible for supporting users who use the Virtual Reality functions in Teamcenter Visualization Professional. We use the software to review our 3D designs, and utilizing the VR features helps us gain an understanding of the model. By using the VR features, it also becomes easier to communicate with other colleagues.
  • Data security.
  • Stability
  • UI/UX.
  • Implementing new technologies like VR and AI.
The main reason we use Teamcenter visualization professional is that we can use the existing integration with our Teamcenter database, giving us access to all our 3D models without a need to either export or convert data before use, which is required if we would use alternative software, like Unity for VR.

To connect users in the design process and to share CAD model data with manufacturing suppliers. To maintain traceability of design work and revisions.
  • Storing CAD data.
  • Making the data available to selected people and organizations.
  • Streamlining our workflow.
  • Sometimes, the process of getting raw data is challenging.
  • Not integrated with our Microsoft Teams install for quick sharing.
Suited to managing our data within the organization. More difficult to share across organizations, without Teamcenter cloud.

I'm responsible for the PLM environments infrastructure. We prepare servers, investigate new possibilities, and we implement new integrations. We are responsible for Teamcenter running securely and with good performance. We also create new TC environments, and we are checking new functionalities, for example, cloud and SAP integrations.
  • Integrate with other applications.
  • Revision management for CAD data.
  • A lot of functions and possibilities.
  • Dispatcher monitoring with a dashboard.
  • Support for 64-bit office for PDF converting.
  • Upgrade/change Teamcenter without downtime.
It's a good application overall for managing the PLM process and it has a lot of integrations to other applications. You can manage for example the CAD data, change process, and manufacturing.

We use Teamcenter to manage assets within our flexible production environment and support decisions for facility reconfiguration. Our use case is to design a factory that has the capability to reconfigure the production line between two different products within the same product family, and being able to reconfigure rapidly, and automate the reconfiguration and assembly processes.
  • Organise product information
  • Collaboration within the team
  • Clear dependency between product, process, assets etc
  • Interface is slow to interact with
  • link to product as-built instance to design
  • Connectivity with other product, process design platforms
Teamcenter is suited in many industries for organising information across the product process design and development, act as a data storage platform also during operations, and especially when a business is building something from scratch, having the opportunities to make decision based on Teamcenter connectivity from day one. However, when lots of legacy machine is in place, this is more difficult.

Product Lifecycle Manamagent system for flexible and reconfigurable automated assembly systems to fulfil aerospace, nuclear, automotive, and civil industrial research projects. Teamcenter is used to manage and link product and system designs, Engineering/Manufacturing Bills of Materials, Bills of Processes, Bills of Resources, and to configuration manage all of the above.
  • Provide structured data model for BoM/BoP/BoR
  • Store and lifecycle manage product definition
  • Store and lifecycle manage BoM/BoP/BoR
  • In my opinion, PLMXML output for Tecnomatix data is bloated, convoluted, and hard to manage.
  • In my opinion, Integration with non-Siemens CAD packages requires detailed software engineering knowledge to implement, rather than being out-of-the-box functionality of an additional module.
  • In my opinion, Deployment and configuration requires a highly specialised skillset, and takes a significant amount of time.
  • In my opinion, Many different ways to accomplish the same task, each with different pros/cons that are unclear without extensive experience.
  • In my opinion, Integration with other Siemens products is not as straightforward as might be expected.
Industry-standard PLM system, ideally suited to store and lifecycle-manage product, process, and system design information.

We consult customers on using Teamcenter in integrated environments with other products and support the integration. My particular teamc is focused on CAD data exchange, other teams are consulting on "higher" level PLM exchange (e.g. with ERP) Main use cases are migration from other PLM systems to Teamcenter, synchronizing CAD structures from Teamcenter to other systems or vice versa, e.g. when other system is used for design only and Teamcenter is used in downstream processes, for example for manufacturing. We support customers in designing these integration processes or provide software for the integration
  • Openness to integrate with other systems
  • Variability management with Product Configurator
  • Transparent system architecture and easy to setup
  • Documentation / Knowledgebase
  • Communication, Roadmap
  • Provide SOA webservices in Teamcenter X for integration with other systems
  • Simplify setup and installation of Active Workspace, very many modules, not always clear which modules are needed for what functionality
Well suited: visualizing design data for processes separate from pure design, e.g. Change Management, Workflow, Manufacturing. Teamcenter allows great customization to adapt to customers need.
Not well suited: small business, Teamcenter On Premise requires some administration overhead, a smaller business might not have resources for that. This might be different for Teamcenter X but I don't have any experience with it yet.

Teamcenter is used to gather all information concerning the definition and the exploitation of assets. We plan to use it as core product to manage the change management process, with an uncoming link to the CAD system and the ERP. All engineering team members and all people in charge of maintenance have access to Teamcenter. We also plan to provide access to subcontractors.
  • search data with accurate filter
  • tracking the right accurate version of documentation
  • compare two bill of material
  • some advanced reporting functions should be enhanced
  • crossed criteria queries
  • it could have more efficient connection to Office 365
Teamcenter is well designed for mechanical conception and design. The new ergonomy provided by the AWC provides an easy access to data. It should provide some on the shelf analytics in order to get reports without additionnal module

We have large-scale implementation of Teamcenter with 30000 users across the globe. Users generally access Teamcenter through 4 Tier RAC clients. AWC is in place as well; however, adoption to AWC from RAC is bit difficult for users. In Manufacturing planning, we are facing some performance degradation.

We use Teamcenter as our central PLM System. As we deliver a broad range of Products and Services to our customers, it is essential to keep track regarding Versions, Status, Changes and so on when it comes to documents and information. Furthermore, it is crucial to provide our employees with one central information hub for our customer projects.
  • Keep track of document versions
  • Enables us to have revision history and storage of information
  • Change Management
  • Preconfigured industry solutions for various "standard" processes. At the moment, there seems to be a gap between the adaptability and flexibility of Teamcenter (which is generally good, but brings side effects), and the capability of companies to implement Teamcenter to their advantage due to missing knowledge, time or money.
  • (e.g., Change Management Process / as a best practice process preconfigured to reduce effort of the customer). It seems that in this case only external experience can be bought in as a consequence.
It has to be mentioned that Teamcenter is suited to carry out various functions. Maybe the most important experience for me is, that as most "big" software systems overlap in functionality. Therefore it is important to clearly define which system in your IT ecosystem is responsible for which function and vice versa. When it comes to document / information creation, storage and consumption Teamcenter can provide a framework and central information hub for companies that have a heterogeneous data/information system landscape.

DIgital Transformation is main topic i am involved and for that I support Digitalization of Process Parameter by managing Manufacturing Process Parameter in Teamcenter and delivering it to MES and then to Shopfloor. In this we would manage the Standard paramater for manufacturing a Product for the combo (Product ,Process and Resource ) in Teamcenter. Well suited for Manufactring Companies that required to manage Data in well efficient manner. Companies who would like to reduce the lean time from Design to Manufacturing time . And also to utilize the IOT platforms to connect real whole with software i.e concepts like Digital twin and Factory Twin to reduce Cost and Time for a Product to be delivered from Design Phase to Manufacturing Phase

We use Teamcenter as the core of our CAD data, containing full BOM structure and relationships between components and tooling to create components. Within Teamcenter we are able to manage our workflows for release of components and to assign attributes required for classification of parts within Teamcenter and downstream into ERP application and other tools. We are able to fully customise to match our business needs with bespoke part code classifications.
  • CAD File Management
  • Customization of Attributes around CAD Data
  • Easy customization of data fields to export into other tools
  • Adjustments to workflows and processes is robust
  • Web browser instance to open application won't be missed
  • Data tree icons are small and not as easy to identify when not using as power user
  • Data structure to manage restricted user access could be cleaner
  • First experience of TeamCenterX web browser interface - a bit clunky (seems too many options)
PRO: Publishing skeleton structures and using up-issue control at issue 0 to version skeleton with real children keeping parents unreleased without drwaings has been quite useful.

CON: Fixing some wrong attributes in TC it is a manual process to correct in a large batch the attributes, making it more efficient to overwrite in ERP software the attributes than taking the time to correct the wrong attributes within Teamcenter.

We use Teamcenter to be able to maintain all the processes of our products with total order, we analyze data models in 3D, it is a CAD system that has generated great internal productivity. We can share data and store it efficiently. STL data export is exported quickly. Product Lifecycle Management works smoothly and efficiently as we use Teamcenter all the time.
  • We keep a great workflow, access to data is amazing.
  • Accepts different CAD formats, 3D data management is very good.
  • We can manage the entire life cycle of a product, it has many customization options and a great user interface.
  • On several occasions, the software closed unexpectedly, which made me doubt its operation.
  • Although the user interface is intuitive, it is not made for inexperienced users as it takes some getting used to.
It is a system with good integration capabilities, it is necessary to use it every day to manage the entire life cycle of a product, the data is well established, it has a large number of CAD formats, we share data with great agility, which allows us to work as a team and solve any problem that arises, we keep our designs under control and share with our work team solutions based on data extraction thanks to Teamcenter. I recommend it for small and large companies, it is the ideal solution to maintain a product life cycle with great stability.

Is a tool so rich in functions and capabilities to work with CAD is so easy to use is already a valuable advantage for us. The menu design is good as well as its user interface in general. It integrates very useful tools for CAD management, saving a lot of time and effort for our work team, for example, tools to rotate, measure, transform, position, move, displace, and much more. Being web-based, it allows us to save disk memory and is available for use from any computer.
  • It is an easy-to-use tool and integrates many capabilities to manage CAD better than any other tool.
  • It is used by many companies with a great global presence and that has generated confidence for us when we decided to try it, the results have been satisfactory.
  • The user interface of this tool is not complex, it is easy to navigate and integrates a lot of functionalities that speed up our work significantly; as well as functionalities such as sectioning, displacing, moving, positioning, transforming, among others that have a lot to do with CAD management.
  • It works via the web through the browser, so it is not necessary to download any application that takes up space and more resources on the computer.
  • That it is web-based I really like it but sometimes it is a problem, especially when trying to download or open large files. Moreover, some tools are difficult to locate in the menu.
It is easy to use and its functionalities are of great help for engineers to do an excellent job when working with CAD in 3D models. In terms of support, it is very good, their team is attentive and responsive. In terms of cost, it is a little high but it is fair, it is a very good tool.

One of the best products from Siemens for PLM. It is the best of PLM known as Product Lifecycle Management Software available these days. It is very heavy software, a bit complex & dynamic software. One should be trained to use it properly and efficiently. But it is best to plan and roll out any product.
  • Product Lifecycle Management.
  • Entire Product Lifecycle begging.
  • Product Planning.
  • Very Complex software.
  • Bit Expensive.
  • Cannot use remotely.
It is best for product planning, introduction, growth, maturity, and decline that is complete product lifecycle management. It is very complex software, one should have good training for efficient use. It is a bit expensive as well. The worst part is it required really stable and good connectivity to work properly. Siemens Teamcenter is an instrument requiring a simplified but more advanced approach to managing the product's life cycle and simplifying operation and maximizing profitability. It offers companies overall control of data from their products and processes by sharing and managing the material accounting, simulation, and other data in a unique environment. Standardized workflows and processes enable companies to streamline their processes and improve efficiency. Teamcenter does a very good job in ensuring a co-operative and comfortable environment in all our work. The cloud-based solution focuses on a rapid restoration of data for various commercial functions, such as planning, development, production and support. Teams can make better and informed decisions because they are available to project data. Using Teamcenter allowed our team to share data and other streamlined works rapidly and more easily. It offers a comfortable workspace to all our teammates.
  • Design and Simulation Management - Teamcenter provides powerful tools and capabilities to quickly develop and deploy complex products and streamline your global operations, enabling a wide range of industries to get up and running faster and provides a single platform to manage your electrical, mechanical, simulation and software data
  • Document and Content Management - The software's advanced document management capabilities enable companies to fully integrate structured documents into their PLM environment, including digital signatures, multi-channel publishing and translation management.
  • Service Lifecyle Management - The integration of the management and supplier integration helps to promote service growth and participate more effectively with suppliers. Product data exchange can also take place with suppliers not included in Teamcenter, resulting in better cost management, engineering and manufacturing.
  • Multi-CAD environment - The multi-CAD environment provides ease of use and helps validate the design more efficiently before releasing it to manufacturing. This helps reduce costs and improve product quality while adhering to industry standards and company sustainability policies.
  • It is not easy to administer Teamcenter. The Backend really needs to be led into a Windows format.
  • The system requires very high hardware resources for a simple design, incompatible controller of some integrated graphics cards
  • The folder option is somewhat difficult to locate. Recently opened locations are not shown on the screen, which makes it difficult to get back to Previous work.
  • It consumes more time for maintaining the product documents and has access issues.
Teamcenter is used to obtain computers design models (CAD) and Bill of Materials (BOM) data directly from the Business Administration System and create manual structure. Teamcenter is a very useful software for any organization that works in multiple sites or works on more than one product. It is really useful to be able to track and organize the process or any information related to the product or the process at any time by any individual employee of the organization. It is particularly slow to launch and run, and it's less appropriate when it comes to using tools that require Java.

We're updating everything about the product on PLM Teamcenter, from reports to design specs, so that everyone in the company is aware of it. We also use it for document management, Data management like drawing & CAD.
